Temple University’s professor in piano, Maria del Pico Taylor and Centre Theater Music School Director Steve Kramer are The Rachmaninoff Duo! They’ll be joined by cello professor Jeffrey Solow’s students and chamber music ensembles will perform master works at the Centre Theater’s second FIRST SUNDAY event, developed by Steve Kramer. Next performance coming this Sunday, April 2!
With or without the snow, we’re ready to get things off to a great start here at the Centre Theater. We had the first Classical Music in the County Seat afternoon of chamber music and it was a rousing success. The next one will be held April 2, as we will be hosting them the first Sunday of every month. We’re bringing Blak Kanvus back to the stage this Saturday, and we have our first Comedy Night of the season coming up on March 25! And if that’s no enough, “Right Behind” will be here in April and “Chicago” will be here in June! And, if all of that isn’t enough, check out our Centre Theater brochure for details on our regular programs and to see how you can help support the arts in #MontcoPA!
We hope this is the beginning of a new era at the theater as our music school director, Steve Kramer, has decided to host a series of chamber music events on Sunday afternoons. As you can see from the marquee Mr. Kramer will be performing here March 5. The event is free and open to the public. Come show your support for the arts! If you enjoy classical music you’ll want to be a part of this new series!
We’re going to have a little lull here at the theater, but trust us when we tell you it will be brief. We already have two shows line up, “Right Behind” is coming in April and “Chicago”is coming in June. In between, we’ll have comedy galore, maybe a little country, too. And don’t forget Blak Kanvus and spoken word night the third Thursday of every month! So, while we’re catching our breath we’d like a little help sharing our non-profit, co-op office space for rent on the second floor. Starting at $150 a month you can get an office with free electric and free wifi, a shared conference room, shared receptionist area and a shared kitchenette. Shoot, you can’t get the wifi and electric for $150 a month! Help us spread the word, please. We want to fill this building up and keep things moving around here! If interested, shoot an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’ve been crazy busy, so apologies for being behind in our postings. To catch you up, here’s what’s going on this week. Blak Kanvus is back…Tonight! There’s a special River Town Project presentation Friday evening! Oh, and Conshohocken Brewing Company and Five Saints Distilling will be here with free samples! And then on Saturday, those crazy kids from Starving Artist Prevention are back with Delinquent Comedy! Things are happening at the theater! And as always, ticket stub from the theater gets you a 10 percent discount at August Moon!
We need your feedback! In addition to our piano, violin and cello lessons, we’d like to add drum lessons. We have a gentleman who has created a unique way to teach children how to read music while they’re having fun learning how to play the drums. Here’s where we need your help. To bring him on we need at least 10 students to sign up.
Please share this post with your friends and if we get more than 20 emails (email@example.com) saying parents are interested in signing up their children, we’ll start the class this spring!
We’re hosting a clean up day at the theater, thanks to the good folks at the Greater Norristown Police Athletic League, so if you’re looking for place to volunteer just shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what your specialty is. If you don’t have one, we’re sure we can find something for you. We’ll meet here at 10 a.m. on Mon. Jan. 16.
